PRIVACY AT YOURS

Your information should help you—not surprise you.

This policy explains what Yours accesses, why it is needed, where it is processed, and the controls available to you.

Effective September 4, 2026Google data is optionalNo advertising use
The short version

Your photos begin private. Gmail, Calendar, Maps Timeline, and facial recognition are optional. Gmail and Calendar matching happens in your browser. Yours does not sell personal information or use Google Workspace data to train a general-purpose AI model.

1. Information Yours handles

Account information
Name, email address, authentication details, and the permissions and connections you choose.
Community contributions
Feature requests, reviews, star ratings, and comments you deliberately publish are public with your profile name. Your email address and private Yours content are not included.
Photos and metadata
Photos you select or receive through an authorized connection, plus available capture time, location, file, and camera metadata.
Face matching
With explicit consent, camera captures are processed on your device into a numeric face template. The enrollment captures are not uploaded. The numeric template and approved matching examples are stored privately to provide matching.
Gmail
If connected, Yours performs narrow searches for relevant ticket, reservation, or event messages only after photo and date clues suggest an event. It may temporarily process matching message content, headers, and metadata in your browser.
Google Calendar
If connected, Yours checks events near relevant photo dates and may temporarily process a matching event title, start and end time, location, and attendee count in your browser. It does not use descriptions or attendee names in Sharables.
Maps Timeline
Yours has no live Timeline connection. A JSON or GPX export is used only when you manually import it, and the imported file remains in that browser.
Public context
Photo-derived dates, coarse coordinates, visible venue or activity clues, and public event terms may be sent to Yours to retrieve weather, holiday, place, or public-event information. Google Workspace message and event data is excluded from that request.

2. How Gmail and Calendar data is used

Google data is used only to provide the visible Personal Context and Sharables features. It helps confirm a detail that a photo alone cannot establish, such as an event name, venue, or session. Access is read-only: Yours cannot send or delete email and cannot create, edit, or delete calendar events.

Google OAuth access tokens are kept in browser session storage and are not sent to or stored by Yours’ servers. Matching message and calendar records are processed in the browser. Extracted private records are not sent to the public-context service and are removed after the on-device drafting step. A local Sharable may retain the resulting user-visible wording and a minimal indication that private context supported it.

If you explicitly create a sharing link, the title and narrative you reviewed—including any event detail you chose to keep—are sent to Yours so the private link can work. Yours does not publish or share anything automatically.

3. Google API Limited Use

Yours’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • Google user data is used only for prominent, user-facing features.
  • It is not sold, used for advertising, credit decisions, or surveillance.
  • It is not used to create, train, or improve a generalized AI or machine-learning model.
  • Humans do not read Gmail or Calendar data except when you provide explicit permission for a specific support request, or when required for security or law.

4. On-device models and automated drafts

Eligible browsers may use an on-device visual and language model to inspect selected photos and prepare a draft. Photos, Google messages, Calendar events, and Maps Timeline records are not sent to an external AI model. Drafts are suggestions and may be incomplete or incorrect; you review and may edit every photo and word before sharing.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

Account records, uploaded photos, access grants, face templates, and public community contributions are retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Local drafts, imported Timeline data, and Personal Context preferences remain in the browser until you remove them, clear browser storage, or delete your account. Google access tokens are short-lived browser-session data.

You can turn off Gmail or Calendar in Settings at any time. Turning a source off stops future access by Yours; you can separately revoke the grant in your Google Account. You can remove imported Timeline data, delete Sharable drafts, delete individual photos, delete your face template, delete your own community posts and comments, or use Settings → Delete account to permanently delete account data and uploaded media. Private sharing links expire after 30 days.

6. Sharing and service providers

Photos are visible only through permissions you authorize, such as an active mutual face match, a group grant, or a private link you create. Community posts, reviews, ratings, comments, and their profile names are intentionally public once you publish them; Yours does not automatically attach private photos or relationship information. Yours uses infrastructure and authentication providers to operate the service. Those providers process data only to provide their contracted services. Yours does not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

7. Security

Yours uses HTTPS, access controls, private object storage, short-lived media links, and permission checks designed to protect data. No service can guarantee absolute security. Please contact us promptly if you believe your account or data has been compromised.

8. Children, changes, and contact

Yours is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date and, when appropriate, an in-product notice.
